Literacy Program

Join us each month at Winterthur Museum & Country Estate for a new literacy program for children ages 3 – 6 and an adult caregiver. On the first Wednesday of each month, enjoy a special experience with a story relating to the Winterthur collection or garden. Our family programming specialists will help you inspire a love of reading in your child through music, movement, and exploration of real historic objects in a warm and welcoming setting.
The series begins on Wednesday, November 5 at 10:15 a.m. in the Winterthur Visitor Center with the story William’s House by Ginger Howard. Visit Winterthur.org and click on “Family Programs” to learn more. Free for Members. Included with admission.

And for older girls (in grades 4-6) join us for the new Mother & Daughter Book & Craft Club at Winterthur. Monthly on Thursday evenings, we’ll discuss a young adult historical fiction book, enjoy refreshments, and make a book-related craft to take home. For girls in grades 4 – 6 and a female caregiver. Visit Winterthur.org and click on “Family Programs” to learn more.
First Meeting: Thursday, November 13, 2008. 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Registration Required. Call 800.448.3883 to register. Free for Members. $35 per mother/daughter pair for 7-month series. Books should be purchased and/or read prior to each month’s meeting.
